100th Anniversary Project
The Rotary Club of Welland was founded in 1920 and will celebrate its 100th Anniversary on April 1, 2020. As a signature activity, we are requesting proposals from the public, Rotarians, and former Rotarians. The project should reflect the Objects of Rotary that include: Making a Difference, Service Above Self, Community Service and Goodwill that can, in the broadest sense, benefit Welland residents and visitors to this great City.
The project will have up to a $100,000 nominal value, based on up to a $100,000 contribution from the Rotary Club of Welland. The project value could be significantly more if it can attract sponsors, partners, matching funds or grants from foundations, etc. Your project could be completed in time for the 100th Anniversary Gala planned for the spring of 2020 or you can propose a timeline that makes sense.
This initiative will create a legacy project for our Club and the community so we will be looking for volunteers and sponsors for various roles.  Whether you want to be involved in the committee, provide expertise, promotion, sponsorship or in any other manner, we have a job for you.  Simply contact us to get involved.
If you are as excited as we are and want to Make A Difference in Welland, come join us for lunch and get involved with our club.

Any updates or FAQs to the process, application, and results will be posted on this section of the web site. Those who have emailed their intention of providing a project submission to the Rotary Club of Welland will be alerted of any posted updates. After all applications have been submitted, these will be reviewed fairly and objectively, and the successful projects will be announced within a reasonable period of time. Media inquiries can be directed to the club at info@wellandrotaryclub.com
A few further guidelines about the submissions:
  • The Rotary Club of Welland reserves the right to alter or change its application process at any time;
  • We acknowledge that one great idea may come from a number of sources so we may introduce known applicants to each other;
  • Project proposals should not supplement or expand existing or planned projects. This proposal should be used for new initiatives while leveraging new and planned sources of funding and in-kind support;
  • The ideas provided to the Rotary Club of Welland become the property of the club including how we communicate results. Ideas and their commitments provided may need to be confirmed with their source in order to be evaluated fairly and implemented successfully;
  • We welcome input and suggestions on improving the process so you are welcome to reach out to us at info@wellandrotaryclub.com and where necessary related comments will be posted;
  • During this process we may be contacting some sponsors or sources of funding. Any relevant developments will be posted on this section of the web site;
  • The 100th Anniversary Committee and the Board of the Rotary Club of Welland have the final say regarding the selection of successful projects.
We thank the Welland community for their continued support of the Rotary Club of Welland and look forward to working with the project applicants to make Welland even greater for all residents.
