The Outreach President: June Rotary Column

As the term of our current president, Peter Papp, draws to a close, we look at his many achievements:

Locally, we continue to support:

• the Niagara Children’s Centre;

• local schools with technology;

• the Read to Feed Program;

• Rose City Kids;

• Habitat for Humanity; and

• Big Brothers Big Sisters

Internationally, we have supported:

• a water project in the Philippines and are presently helping to refurbish a school system in Candelaria in the Philippines

In Northern Ontario, Welland

Rotary, with the Town of Pelham, has been instrumental in supplying the community of Bearskin Lake with a fully functional re truck, and will, in the future, support aboriginal schools with much-needed supplies.

With Peter’s leadership, Welland Rotary continues to promote collaboration with the Niagara area Clubs to promote common projects locally and abroad. Peter’s efforts during his Presidency have been significant. He has laid the groundwork for continued investments in the coming years.
